Welcome to the Joshua Hamblen House —a rare opportunity to stay at one of Wellfleet’s most historically significant properties, offered for rent for the first time after centuries of private family ownership. Lovingly restored, fully renovated and expanded in 2025, the home was thoughtfully reimagined to preserve its 17th- and 18th-century origins while showcasing high-end finishes and contemporary conveniences throughout. Nestled on a sweeping private estate with acres of open space, this remarkable property offers a sense of seclusion and elegance rarely found on Cape Cod.

Ideally located less than a mile from Wellfleet Harbor and the vibrant town center—home to charming shops, renowned art galleries and award winning restaurants —this private haven offers peace and space, all within easy reach of the Cape’s finest attractions. The property also backs directly onto the 7th hole of the Chequessett Club, a hidden gem tucked away on Wellfleet Harbor that offers golf, tennis, and sailing in a spectacular seaside setting.

As you step through the front door of this luxury Cape Cod retreat, you're immediately greeted by an expansive great room, where original 18th century exposed wood beams stretch across the vaulted ceiling, adding rustic character and architectural charm to the elegant space. Sunlight pours through large windows, illuminating the open layout that flows effortlessly from the sophisticated living areas to the inviting dining space and gourmet kitchen. With cozy, coastal-inspired furnishings and a warm fireplace as the centerpiece, this space is perfect for intimate gatherings, family game nights, or relaxing after a day at the beach.

The spacious and open plan chef’s kitchen is the epitome of elegance and functionality, featuring brand new top-of-the-line Fisher Paykel appliances, a wine refrigerator, double ovens, dual refrigerators, crisp white cabinetry and sleek countertops. At the heart of the space stands an expansive center island - perfect for entertaining, casual dining, or prepping gourmet meals. With ample seating, integrated storage, and sophisticated finishes, every detail of this kitchen was thoughtfully designed for comfort, style and convenience.

Just off the kitchen, a bright and airy sunroom invites you to relax with morning coffee or unwind as the sun sets. Step outside to discover three thoughtfully positioned decks—perfect for al fresco dining, lounging with a book, or simply enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Whether you're seeking quiet moments or vibrant gatherings, this home offers a seamless blend of indoor comfort and outdoor charm, perfectly capturing the essence of relaxed coastal living.
