Welcome to the "Elfriede" House


Location

The vacation home is located in the beautiful Westerwald, on the outskirts of the small village of Seck.
Those seeking peace and relaxation will find it here.
The house is situated right on the edge of the forest, separated from a bike and hiking trail, and is geographically located roughly halfway between Cologne and Frankfurt am Main.
In the immediate vicinity, you’ll find the “Holzbachschlucht,” a wonderful destination for any nature lover, as well as the “Secker Weiher” swimming lake.
Also worth highlighting is the very well-known “Westerwald Steig” hiking trail, which is one of the “TopTrails of Germany”—Germany’s best hiking trails.
The Krombachtalsperre, the Westerwald Lake District, and much more await your visit.
The region also offers great opportunities for cyclists and motorcyclists.
If we ever get a real winter again, the Upper Westerwald has several ski lifts, all located not far from “Haus Elfriede.”


Shopping Options

For everyday necessities, it’s not far—the small town of Rennerod is about 5 km away and has all the stores you need, including Aldi, Lidl, Netto, Penny, and Rewe, as well as a dm store and much more.
You’ll also find smaller shops, pharmacies, and—if necessary—various doctors’ offices in Rennerod.
If the weather isn’t so great, you have the option of visiting cities like Limburg an der Lahn or Koblenz.
In addition to shopping, these cities invite you to linger with their charming old-town atmosphere.
For those who don’t want to drive quite that far, Hachenburg and/or Montabaur—including the FOC—are also good options.
To each their own.
For cozy evenings out to eat or to order delivery/takeout, there are several options nearby.

The “Elfriede” house

The house was completely gutted, remodeled, and renovated between 2019 and 2022, all done by the owners themselves.

Whether it was the roof, windows, facade, insulation, doors, terraces, etc., on the exterior, or interior walls, ceilings, electrical systems, plumbing, floors, etc., everything was rebuilt from scratch.

The furnishings were lovingly selected and are also new.

Spanning approximately 120 square meters, the home features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living/dining room, and a brand-new kitchen.

The property can accommodate between 1 and 6 people

Bedrooms
Each bedroom is equipped with a double bed and satellite TV.

Bathrooms
Both bathrooms are equipped with a walk-in shower,toilet, and sink/mirror cabinet

Kitchen
The kitchen has everything you need, electric stove, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, etc.

Living-Dining Room
The living room is comfortably furnished with an eye for detail, featuring a cozy, large couch and a spacious dining table—perfect for enjoying time with friends and family.
Here, too, you’ll find a satellite TV, just a bit larger.

Patio
Here you have the choice between two patios: a small one (approx. 15 square meters in the entryway) and/or the slightly larger (approx. 35 square meters) terrace. Whatever you prefer.
Patio furniture, a parasol, and cushions are, of course, provided and included.

A Smoker-Friendly Place
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the house!
However, no smoker should have to stand outside in the rain, so the small, fully covered terrace offers a place to smoke, complete with ashtrays and a fireproof “cigarette butt bucket.”

Storage space for bicycles or motorcycles
Available free of charge upon request.
