The main advantage of these apartments is the location. It is just three minutes to the sea. You can swim there, though it is not a traditional beach—it consists of rocks and a metal platform with steps. Other attractions (churches, the fortress, the port, etc.) are also very close by, as Ortigia is a very small island.
The apartment is in a semi-basement. The floor is paved with paving slabs, the walls are stone, the furniture is very old, and the metal bed creaks loudly. There is high humidity. The bathroom is cramped and has the same flooring; the drain works poorly, so you end up standing in a puddle of soapy water. Water pressure is weak.
