The Gießlhütte is a wonderful starting point for hikes on the Saualpe and for day trips. The hiking trails on and around the Saualpe are in excellent condition. You can hike about 200 stunningly beautiful kilometers here across the lush alpine pastures—among bellflowers, buttercups, and gentians.
And if you’re in the mood for a trip to Wolfsberg, you’ll be right in the center in just under 20 minutes by car. It’s also not far to Slovenia (approx. 40 km) or Italy (approx. 100 km).
We’re accessible by public transportation via the Postbus shuttle.
On-site costs: Prices are per day and per person or per apartment (including VAT). Upon request, we’d be happy to provide you with a weekly rate. Our offers are subject to the provisions of the Austrian Hotel Regulations. You can find more information on the WKO website. Pets: If you bring a dog or other pet, the Alpengasthof reserves the right to charge for any necessary final cleaning in the event of heavy soiling or damage. Pets are not permitted in the sunroom. Price: 15.00 euros per night. Food not included. Our entire property is smoke-free. Should the prices in the booking confirmation differ from those in this price list, the prices listed in the price list shall always apply. This is because errors can sometimes creep into a booking confirmation. Short-stay surcharge: For stays of only one day, there is a €10 surcharge per person.
