Penzión Valaška

It's a charming, older chalet just outside of the main town. Parking was easy, and getting there as well. The view from the room was nice, we could see the Tatras! The staff was really nice: the receptionist wasn't fluent in English, but he did his best to make himself understood and was super helpful. The room itself was clean and cosy. It's not large nor super modern, but it's comfortable and has all expected furnishings (including a small fridge). We didn't have breakfast, so we can't rate it.

Although the bathroom was clean and modern, the shower could be better. The water wasn't very hot (it was warm enough, but I wanted it scalding after a cold day) and it had a big step to get in/out of it which could be a bit dangerous. I found the bed comfortable, but my husband not so much, as it's a thinner mattress. As with many central European hotels and pensions, the "double bed" has two separate mattresses and bed covers, which to us is weird and uncomfortable. But it's a matter of preference!

Amazing little hotel in this location. Very friendly and welcoming host, despite the fact that we couldnt speak Slovakian and he spoke a little English. They provided a special suite for the whole family. The breakfast was an extensive buffet that was a pleasant surprise. The location was easy to find and the Tatras are unforgettable. The people are very friendly. The plase must be awesome in the winter!

Clean, great view, pleasant hosts. Helped us with late arrival and provided very clear instructions. Spotless bathroom, good breaskfast. Great value for money.
