Lovely friendly and helpful staff on reception and location is just over the road from the bus station so very easy to access. Beautiful spacious room with a lovely view of the river outside. Two supermarkets right across the road as well as the bus station made it easy to head out on day trips. There is a delicious Italian restaurant and a bakery just up the road - both highly recommended, and dinner in the hotel was also extremely good. The room itself was spacious, comfortable and the bathroom was lovely with an amazing shower. Breakfast was buffet style, with sometimes a short wait for food to be replenished, but plenty of choice. Would definitely stay here again.

Hotel prices in the Berchtesgaden are on the expensive side. That applies also for Schwabenwirt. Hotel is on the main roundabout so there is significant noise if a window is open. Note that it is not beside the lake.

The hotel was literally 2 min from the train station and very useful if you did not arrive with a car. Supermarket, pharmacy, ATM, central bus station all within 2-3 min walk. To the old town it took us about 15 min walking. The restaurant downstairs has a very decent breakfast with plenty choices (Was included in the room rate). Lunch or dinner can be served in the hotel as there is a nice terrace outside or plenty options for indoor seating. Beds were comfy - all you need after a day of sightseeing. View from the balcony was very nice and there is a nice river just next to the hotel. Not noisy.

There was no mini-bar or mini-fridge in the room, spoons, cups, tea kettle. There were water glasses only. Very basic amenities in the room. The double bed had two twin mattresses and a significant gap between them - which meant you still feel the twin bed experience.
