It was a super nice location, quiet with a view of Mount Yufu. The privat Onsens were perfect and one of them was always available when I needed one.

An amazing accomodation which I will definitely be returning to in the future! It's run by a lovely elderly couple who do everything themselves (including the breakfast which was also 10/10). It's clean, well-maintained and has everything you could need really (and yukatas are provided too). They have 2 indoor baths and 1 outdoor bath, and they have a good system for reserving. I didn't have any issues in this regard, i.e. there was no occassion were I had to wait an excessively long time or I couldn't get time in any bath. The rooms were clean, they have a little coffee/tea table on the top floor and a washing machine. It's also in a great location since it's only a 20 minute walk from Yufuin flower village (which is a nightmare for parking so if you want to visit there, this is a great choice).

Not really a negative but they don't really have a place where you can dry your clothes. You can wash them in the washing machine but you can't really hang them to dry anywhere (despite the hosts providing drying hangers) so just something to be aware of.

Before arriving, I wasn't sure the room would be as nice as it looked in the photos because it seemed quite small. But the moment we got there, all my doubts disappeared. The warm welcome from the lovely elderly couple made us feel at home right away. The room was spotless, the indoor bath was beautifully maintained, and every breakfast during our three-night stay was different, homemade, and absolutely delicious. The location was convenient, just a short walk from the bus stop, and the breathtaking scenery behind Sanso Tanaka made our morning and evening walks unforgettable. More than anything, it was the genuine kindness and care of the hosts that made this place so special. We left with wonderful memories and would love to come back.

Our Western-style room had two beds, which were a bit firmer than I prefer. As someone with back pain, I found them a little uncomfortable, but this may not be an issue for guests who prefer a firm mattress.
