This property is definitely in the most historic area of Venice! Narrow walkways between multistory brick buildings, bridges over canals (stairs!), and little squares with cafes and shops. The apartment is walking distance to a co-op grocery, a water taxi stop, shops, gondola rides, and St. Mark's Square/Basilica. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, with all amenities and is in a very quiet area. The host kept in contact with us before and during our stay. He helped whenever we had a question or issue and was an invaluable source of information. I highly recommend this apartment and host.

The apartment was within walking distance of a small supermarket, restaurants, cafes, major attractions, and transportation. Andrew was extremely helpful at check-in and we had a very pleasant stay.

For me the first thing that needs replacing or repairing is the frame for the entry door on the outside. It is entirely broken and not always catches the lock properly. This is a security issue and until it is fixed I can’t recommend this as a place to stay. As it is now if you are not careful the frame separates. Andrew was a great communicator and was very calm with my suggestions. We did stay 25 days!Great location.In the entry as we leave is a broken lamp, broken when we arrived, and a large type of storage that is just taking up space.There are two AC units, neither one in the bedrooms. The one in the sitting room works great, the one in the hall, not so much. We had to sleep with the bedroom doors open to get coolish air.Only two outlets, total, (meaning one receptical in each outlet, not double ones) in bedrooms, small bedroom the outlets are not convenient. We bought three multi plugs to charge by the bed and next to the desk in the sitting room but took them with us. Situation in small bedroom makes it impossible to easily charge by bed.Broken chairs on balcony. Very quiet.

What was great: The host was great at giving directions to our meeting place. He met us at the vaporetto stop and walked us to the apartment. Very friendly and super nice guy. We enjoyed talking with him. What was not great: Location is way off! it's not where they had it located. It was by the Ospetal vaporetto stop which was not a main line so you must connect to another line or walk. Not the best location if you're planning on a lot of sightseeing. A lot of our planning was done around the initial "location" listed on the listing. We had to cancel our dinner plans and some sightseeing plans since they were far and hard to get to from the actual flat location. The bathrooms were dirty. There were still brown smudges on the flusher buttons and we had to Clorox wipe everything off. The apartment was damp and had a strong moldy smell. We understand that Venice get a bit flooded every year but the apartment was extremely musty. The kitchen and eating space were super small! The kitchen didn't even have a light so you can't even really cook in there. Even making coffee was hard in the morning since the apartment doesn't get much day light. There was only 2 AC units inthe apartment. One in the living room and one in the hallway. We had a hard time sleeping since the bedrooms were too hot. Windows didn't have bug screens so we had to decide between sleeping with bugs biting us or sleeping in a sauna. The washing machine is super tricky. It doesn't open very readily
