Bodhi Panama City

The staff were lovely and helpful and they cleaned many times a day keeping the space really clean (super impressed with the cleaning). Breakfast was good (none vegan). Location was great with restaurants, small grocery stores and shops within short walking distance. I asked the staff to be more quiet in the early mornings and they made a real effort, giving the rest of my stay peaceful mornings.

They only had 1 toilet and 1 shower working for what could be up to 12 people on the top floor, but they were so on top of the cleaning it was manageable.

Pool was nice, on site laundry service, A/C was great.

WiFi didn’t reach our room, out of order toilets which meant sharing 1 with a lot of people, bathrooms were fine but could do with more regular cleans, some other guests were rude (appreciate this is not the fault of the hostel).

Felt safe but there was really nothing in the area. When I checked in someone just showed me to my room and where the bathroom was, never saw any friendliness from them other than the person that made breakfast in the morning. I asked if I could drink the two water once because the jug seemed empty and didn't really get an answer. Was hoping for a social vibe but didn't get that at all - I imagine that depends a bit on who's staying there but feel like there should have been events to facilitate that. About a 15-30 min uber to casco viejo (historic center & nightlife) but not being away from even a bar to go to was a bummer when on vacation. Also, the shower rod fell on my head every time I showered. I had a private room and my bedroom light had a constant flicker. if I turned the ceiling fan on it made an awful noise. I didn't mention this to anyone so maybe they would have changed the bulb or fixed it if I had, but it was irritating. Overall Not a bad experience, just fine.
