SUITE 1907 AVILES

Beautiful apartment in a great location, well equipped and good communication

Suite Luxury 02 is a fantastic place to stay: although it was on one of the historic streets, the bedroom was at the back of the property so there was no noise at all. The walk up from the underground parking was a bit difficult for me as it was uphill all the way, but taking it slowly was alright. We had a great meal at the restaurant "Italiana on Galiana" just a short way from the apartment. The staff at Suite 1907 were really helpful, and sorted out a minor problem very quickly and positively.

First the positives. The location was great, right in the old part of town. The bed was super comfy.

The check in process in the end was straightforward enough but upon receiving lengthy messages to be able to check in, and based on a previous experience where it took us half a hour to check 4 people into a hotel, I enquired if there was another way other than the automated check in method. I was walking the Camino and didn't have time to be fiddling with a phone check in. I received a curt message back saying they had taken payment and if I wished to cancel then I would lose my money. The room itself was a bit tired and tatty with the shower doors hanging off and which didn't close properly. It also appeared to be set up specifically for just one person arriving. For example there was just one bedside lamp on one side of the bed and the shower gel bottle was a third full. Of course I'm not going to use a full bottle of shower gel with just the one shower but it just seemed a bit petty and stingy. Maybe I'm too old but I'm not a fan of these wholly automated accommodations where you never get to deal with a real person, especially in the North of Spain where everyone is so friendly. Give me a family run hotel with real people every time.

The location was great. The hot tub was good and the main reason we booked this place.

Check-in- horrible. Had to wait almost an hour because it is a self-check-in system that wouldn't take our payment. The staff was there but apparently can't take payments. Spent all that time on the phone waiting for them to fix it. Entered the room, and smells lightly of cigarettes. I asked the person working there to verify it since this property requires a deposit with large penalties. I then called them to let them know so I wouldn't be charged. The sofa bed's arms just fell over and were broken. The outside had not been swept. An odd thing about the property is the cameras outside so there isn't really any privacy. On top of that, people on the top can see directly into your space with the hot tub. As you will see it has had thousands of reviews and looks like it. The owner of the property (which is not local) should focus on their current properties and not expanding next door.
