Staff great. Food good. Beer good. Brekfast good.

It’s a beautiful traditional pub with a log fire and great home cooking. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Good range of beers and other drinks. Staff were lovely. They had storage for our bikes.

We liked everything

I have visited this location on a couple of occasions on my long distance walks for liquid refreshment, this time I got the opportunity to stay. It far exceeded my high expectations. Great food, comfy room, great shower. The fire in the bar area is fabulous when you are a walker. So peaceful at night, no late bar noise. When walking I am a cider drinker but they have a good selection of real ales. Staff and locals friendly, and for walkers you will meet other folks to swap trail tales.

Absolutely nothing. It ticked all my boxes.

The location was great if you're walking that area. It has great links to surrounding villages and a lovely area on the whole to explore. Breakfast is provided but I would probably have something simpler like beans on toast rather than the full breakfast.

The beds weren't that comfortable but I suppose OK if you're staying for one night.
