My friends and I had an amazing time at The Old Rectory Barn over a wet and chilly November weekend. The house is so cosy and lovely, and was well set-up for having a great weekend indoors. Helen couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. She let us do a pre-visit as I was anxious about using an Aga, and to calm my nerves she loaned me an Aga cookbook and also made an electric cooker and other cooking options available (which came in handy).

We had such a lovely time. Helen was so helpful and answered any questions very quickly. A beautiful house and garden and a lovely local pub nearby- just the venue for a girlie catch up weekend! Highly recommend.

We booked a Christmas getaway with a group of friends in this picturesque old barn not far from London. Our wonderful host was always available for any queries and advice and even decorated for the Christmas setting. There is a long history of the Old Rectory, but the place has all the modern functions, snug heating, additional blankets if needed (they weren't), hot power showers and an excellent air fryer. The place was warmly lit, comfortable beds, sofas and a fire place that was perfect to have on, to cap off the scenic vibes. There is a games room too, with heating and the grounds are beautiful and include a huge famous Lebanese tree (from their flag) with a swing. We feasted, got merry and used the dishwasher, to enjoy a Christmas time, it was sad to leave, until we realised, Christmas is also coming up the week after, but it will be hard to top this :D

We had a marvellous weekend here with our children and grandchildren. There was entertainment for the children (even when it rained) and a lovely environment for all with a cosy wood burning stove. Easy to park three cars. Lovely walks from the house.
