Firstly, I do feel this should be advertised as partial ocean view as you have to be ON the patio in order to enjoy the ocean view only between the buildings. The room was clean, but showers can use more attention - there were moldy spots on the grout and corners in both bathrooms. Master started pooling twice, not really sure why it was so random! The light in the master bathroom toilet room was not working - they came and switched the bulb, but it stopped working the next day again so maybe electrical? I will say, it's not very convenient having to call the customer service number to get more towels or make a request as opposed to simply calling front desk for assistance. Also - help is only available during business hours, so the night we got home in the early evening and needed towels or when I called the night before checkout to get dishwasher pods to start it as requested - the requests couldn't be fulfilled till the next day. We stayed for 8 nights, I did not realize there was no turndown service. We don't need nightly service, but maybe after 3-4 nights - the offer to change bedsheets, pick up dirty towels, and a quick restock/refresh of the unit should be offered - your residents are on vacation! These are all my personal critiques! Overall, we did enjoy our stay! I appreciated there were 2 beach chairs, a beach umbrella and a couple sand toys in the closet for use. The fridge was very clean. The accordion style doors opening to the patio was beautiful!

This unit was perfect for our family and was exactly as promised in the listing. The check-in process was easy and we would definitely return to this unit and complex for future trips.

This property is the perfect vacation spot on Maui, in the middle of everything we wanted to do. The only thing was the dryer wasn't working so we couldn't wash our towels and clothes. KBM did offer to wash our clothes (so we did that at the end of the trip) and gave us a lot of new fresh towels but it was inconvenient when we needed to wear clothes that needed to be washed and dry swim suits..

Aloha! I have always booked directly with resorts and never used a vacation rental company before and needless to say, I was a little concerned on the process, service, and security of it all. After all is said and done, I am extremely satisfied by KBM for the assistance and service throughout the process and the final product and experience of our family vacation. We found a smoking deal, the Hard Hat Special, at the Honua Kai property and booked our vacation. KBM was super fast and responsive with multiple property quotes and multiple date requests while we were planning our vacation. Once we decided on our dates and room, KBM made the rest of the process a breeze. Free rental car and free valet/hotel parking was a nice additional benefit. The room was very nice, well appointed, comfortable and gave our family a very comfortable home base for our stay. The kids and I found the construction project next door to be educational and entertaining. The noise was hardly noticeable with the windows closed. There was obvious noise when the doors and windows were open, but it was hardly disturbing. After all, we were only in the room for meals, rest and sleeping, so the construction was never an issue for us. We are already planning a trip for next year and will be contacting KBM for assistance.
