Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Cancun Airport

Our stay at Fairfield was amazing! From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean, spacious, and had plenty of natural sunlight, which made it feel bright and comfortable. The rest of the staff were also very welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed the pool area. It was nicely designed and offered a good level of privacy since it wasn’t clearly visible from the guest rooms. This made us feel much more comfortable and relaxed while using the pool. The breakfast was another highlight. There was a decent variety of options in the buffet, with mostly American-style breakfast items along with some nice Mexican touches, such as chilaquiles and beans. It was a great way to start the day. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at Fairfield. The clean and comfortable room, friendly staff, private pool area, and enjoyable breakfast made it a great experience. I would definitely consider staying here again. The hotel bar is definitely worth mentioning! The pizzas are a must-try, and the other Mexican dishes, especially the tacos and quesadillas, were also really good. We enjoyed the food so much that we ended up having dinner at the bar every single night during our stay. The only thing to keep in mind is that the prices are a bit high compared to restaurants in Canada, especially when it comes to drinks. For example, we paid around CAD $17 for a 900 ml bottle of water! 😄

The only downside was the delay with the airport shuttle pickup. We had to wait around 30 minutes for the shuttle. I recommend coordinating with the reception desk well in advance, or taking a taxi to the hotel, as it isn’t too expensive.

The room was comfortable. The morning staff was pleasant. Breakfast was pretty good as well.

The whole reason I booked this hotel was because it offered a free shuttle from the airport. From the moment I arrived at the airport I went to one of the places listed on the site as a shuttle pick up, the welcome bar, and called the front desk to tell them. After an hour I called back and they said the shuttle came and went and said they would send it again and the same thing happened. I called again and they told me to send them a picture of where I was like they didn’t believe me, so I did. I was exactly where it says to wait on the website. Then they tell me the shuttle won’t go there and that’s why I missed it. So after 2 hours of waiting I walked to a different part of the airport and in the meantime my friend who was at the hotel tried to get the ladies at the front desk to help me, but they told her I must be drunk because I was at the bar. The Welcome Bar was the place listed on the website to wait and the place I had told them I had been because that’s where the pick up spot was listed. They were so rude and unprofessional and after I walked to a different part of the airport I couldn’t get back into the area I was originally in, where the shuttle was supposed to pick up in the first place. So I ended up having to pay for a taxi even though the whole reason I booked this hotel was for the free shuttle. The ladies were so rude and at any time could have told me the shuttle didn’t pick up where I had been sitting, but they waited for over 2 hours before telling me. It was all overly frustrating and could have been avoided at any point with a tiny bit of communication.
