GangnamStay - Foreign Female Only

This hostel, and especially the hosts Sue and Park, have been truly amazing! I needed a place to stay before I could move into the university dorms, and they were so very welcoming. They explained everything very well, from how to get there, good places to eat, to fun activities to do in the area. The people that stayed in the hostel were also extremely nice, I made some good friends! It’s a very respectful and calm environment, you can explore Seoul from here or just chill on the couch all day (it’s a lovely couch). The beds are comfortable with good privacy. The place is cleaned daily and they often cook some fresh Korean food for the guests to enjoy! The location in Gangnam is also amazing, everything you could ever need is walking distance away. The hustle and bustle is very close by if you’re looking for that, but the hostel street itself is very quiet. I only have good things to say about the hostel and the host, I really enjoyed my time here and I would love to come back one day! And just an extra special thanks to Sue once more, because I made a mistake with the booking and she has been so extremely accommodating and helpful and trying to make everything work. Thank you so much Sue!

I love that it was right next to Gangnamdae-ro. A lot of shopping and restaurants close by. The staff were amazing! Thank you Sue, Chloe, Momma Sue, and cleaning staff!! Most amenities as well as food were included, so you barely need to get anything. Also, the staff would prepare specialty Korean cuisine every couple days. Me and my friend were spoiled with all the good food!

Not necessarily not like, but the shower/bathroom area was a little small. We made it work for the time we were there. However, you can shower in the other bathrooms. It was just a little inconvenient going up and down floors after a shower. A few bugs and mosquitoes. But they provide a little device that keeps the mosquitoes away.

This hostile is really more of a passion project for the owner Sue. Everything was exceptional and exceeded my expectations. Sue was extremely helpful, friendly and takes amazing care of this place. I actually extended my stay twice. Having access to a washer and dryer gave me more time to explore because I didn’t have to spend half a day in a laundromat. The place is impeccably clean the beds were surprisingly really comfortable most comfortable beds I’ve had in Korea ever. The kitchen was clean and well stocked I’d come back to Korea just to stay here.

Nothing this place is perfect

Everyone was so kind. It was my first time in Korea but they gave me such clear directions on how to get out of the airport and to the hostel. They welcomed me very warmly and gave a quick but comprehensive tour. I can clearly tell from the close relations of the other guests that this was a very lovely social space. The food they make every now and then is absolutely delicious. The kimchi was so authentic and crazy tasty!! If you have any issues or concerns they are so quick to respond, and of course, just very helpful. The location is also really good. Plenty of places to eat nearby as well as convenience stores.

There’s literally nothing that could’ve been better. They were the perfect host in every way.
