El Locanda Boutique Hotel

The hotel is set back a bit from the main road, and there were parking spaces at the front gate. We had a junior suite - a large sitting room furnished with old-style polished wood furniture, which we found appealing, and a comfortable sofa and chairs. We appreciated the facilities for making tea and coffee, and the large balcony with views over the hotel's garden and the beach beyond. Bedroom and bathroom were separate, both very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was served in the dining room downstairs - no fruit or juice but a plate of simple cold meat, soft cheese and jam to accompany the bread, and a hot dish of omelette. The location was good. There was a bus stop close by for journeys to Constanta, a local mini-market with attached cafe selling filled pittas (which you could eat in the covered area outside) and a little further away was the lovely Noi cafe with its small garden, local beer and tasty burgers (and other dishes)

The hotel itself and rooms are lovely and very clean.

Advertised as having a swimming pool - it does but is was full of dirty water and leaves - despite it being end of May and warm enough for swimming. Went down for breakfast on the first two mornings of my stay to find the door locked- I gave up after that and didn’t bother trying again. I stayed for 5 nights - during that time there was no housekeeping of my room - so after 5 days I had overflowing bins - not good! I also ran out of toilet paper and had to go out and buy more - there was never anyone around to ask in morning or even and reception door always locked.

Close to the beach

The room was not clean, a strange smell was in the room and the breakfast was poor and low quality and quantity - only a few vegetables, cheese, bacon, but NO eggs.
