Parador de Plasencia

The property is historic and beautiful as is the room and decor. The breakfast is bountiful and good. Location within the castle is great. Parking is underground via a lift and easy to access.

I very rarely provide a 10, but in my opinion Parador de Plasencia deserves it. Fantastic value, delightful staff, very comfortable spacious bedroom and bathroom, a greats night sleep, delicious dinner in restaurant, v good G+T in bar pre-dinner, car parked securely in lower floor private garage. Quiet location. What’s not to love.

Nothing

The room was quiet, clean and well presented. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped. It is a beautiful building although didn't appear much to be of it available to see other than the internal courtyard area and the refectory which is the dining room. Good access to Plaza Mayor and the busy bars and shopping area.

Parking was quite a long walk with several flights of steps involved in both the car park and access to the parador. The return walk from the car park was slightly uphill which in the very hot weather of August was extremely difficult for my partner even though we did not have our suitcases with us as they had been dropped off at the hotel. There wasn't any complimentary water despite paying nearly 300 euros for a double room. The swimming pool is not much more than a children's pool and hardly deep enough for an adult to swim. Nevertheless a place to sit and cool down in the hot weather.

Superb historic building, great atmosphere

Expensive by comparison with other Paradores. Car parking a bit tricky and an additional 18 euros charge. Unlike other paradors the bar was not open for food until 8.30pm. Bar staff a bit disinterested and offhand.
