Leonardo Hotel Antwerp The Plaza

I liked the comfortable bed and spacious room. Breakfast was in a rather contained space but had everything you need to start the day well. Chosen as it's close to the KAVA congress center.

The area around the hotel has very little to offer - no shops or cafés. However, it's close to a tram that goes downtown in 15 minutes. Also, it's on a rather busy street that is surprisingly noisy in the early morning. I would have preferred that the elevator require a keycard to access floors with rooms.

Large and spacious room, with a large double bed, separate toilet. Bath and shower, wardrobe and a nice view. Calm lighting, which makes it a very spacious and relaxing atmosphere.

The water pressure in the hotel was on the low end; it took a while before the bath was filled enough for me to get in. Also, the shower is nice and warm, but I prefer a bit more water pressure. No kettle provided.

The size of the room, the location, the breakfast and the comfortable lounges.

That said, there were a few decent aspects: - Despite many complaints about breakfast in reviews, we found it quite standard — with most items people typically expect in a hotel breakfast. - The parking is not directly in the building, but it's nearby, easy to access, and reasonably priced. - The mattress was comfortable, and the shower had strong water pressure, even though we were staying on the top floor.

- The strange net on the balcony was torn and hanging loose, making it impossible to enjoy the outdoor space. -There is no privacy on the terrace — it's fully exposed to neighbors on both sides, so you can't comfortably relax, leave the door open, or enjoy a sunset without feeling watched. -The coffee machine had a broken control panel. -No basic amenities were provided — just a generic 3-in-1 product for shower, sink, and shampoo. -Everything feels very outdated and poorly maintained. -Several light switches in the room didn’t work. Even worse, twice during the night, the lights in our room turned on by themselves — possibly controlled from the neighboring room. This was very disturbing. -Soundproofing is poor. We could clearly hear our neighbors clicking switches, trying to figure out what they control — probably ours. -Many visible maintenance issues: peeling wallpaper, scratches, damaged shower curtain, loose fixtures, etc.
