Park Hotel Ai Pini & Restaurant Ai Pini

Great location for visiting Venice old town if you travel by car. They have huge free and gated parking lot and even let us park there for free for the duration of our city visit after checking out. Hotel looks older but renovated inside. Rooms are nice and clean. Bathroom is modern. Bus for Venice leaves right outside the gate from the main street and it takes 20 minutes to get there. You can even buy tickets directly at reception. Breakfast is standard continental selection. Good price and convenient instead of looking for expensive options in the old town. There is also a decent restaurant within the hotel premises. It is necessary to book ahead as it seems to be quite popular with locals.

The staff made me wait until after 2 pm to receive my room. I arrived early (before check in time) but notified them the day before that I would. Then they offered bus services to the 3 families that showed up at 2 pm but never provided me with that information. They also never provided me a place to store my bags so I could go explore Venice. The room was a little dirty and had mold and broken tiles in the bathroom (including a floor tile that was unstable). I also thought it was weird to have a hand towel holder/rack hanging directly over the bidet so my hand towel kept landing in the bidet which is gross. The hotel was not really near anything. The one or two restaurants nearby had ok food but not really good food. I also had breakfast included but needed to leave at 2am. They did not offer me anything to go, which for a 4 star hotel I thought they might.

The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious enough for two adults and two children. The breakfast was nice, with a good variety of options. The staff was kind, welcoming and helpful including assisting us with the bus tickets. The bus station to Venice is very close to the hotel.

The neighborhood surrounding the hotel was not particularly appealing, and I would not feel entirely comfortable returning by bus late at night. The restaurant was pleasant and served good food, but the service was quite slow.
