Such a quirky pub with so many nooks and crannies. Very little noise from pub in rooms above. Room was delightful and breakfast supplies an added bonus

This was not what I expected. Mind you, it was a comfortable stay for the 2 nights and it was nice that it was part of a restaurant/pub. I did enjoy a pint and a nice dinner. It was just not what I expected.
This was certainly not a deal breaker, but... the "RED" painted hallway was overwhelming and probably not a good choice. The restaurant/pub is not open for breakfast... so the property has a small fridge in your room with granola and fruit for your continental breakfast. It was a bit disappointing as all of our other stays had a wonderful breakfast included.

Lovely old pub and our room was fairly spacious and had everything we needed, including a breakfast of yoghurt, granola, fruit and a muffin!
We were also invited to take part in the pub quiz that night.
One of the staff also very kindly offered and then made me a pot of hot water, lemon and honey to take to our room as I had a cold.
If we return to Winchester we would definitely stay here again
