Pestana Sintra Golf Resort & SPA Hotel

The bedroom was great, very spacious and had everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable and felt extremely safe and secure. Stairs are a little bit of a worry at first but with a 2 year old and 5 year old they were fine. 14 year old had his own space too. The hotel wasn’t too busy so it was nice to be able to get beds at the pool easily and the breakfast was good and well organised for the family and lots of options for the children. Staff were really friendly and helpful.

Outdoor kids pool was very cold and bit too shallow. Main pool was ok but a little cold and indoor pool was fine. The hotel is a little dated but feels very clean and safe and we would return and recommend as great value for money.

Such a beautiful resort! Loved the fact that there is an indoor and outdoor pool (my favourite being the outdoor pool). It was kid friendly (we’re traveling with two kids, 5 & 10 years old). It was the perfect place to start our vacation in Portugal. It’s relatively close to Lisbon. We spent our first day unwinding from our flight by swimming. Then it was lovely to return back to the pool from our exploration of Pena Palace and Sintra. We did have a rental car. So if you’re planning on visit8’h Sintra and using public transit it might not be convenient for you as it is more suburban but it was perfect for us. The breakfast was exceptional with many options for everyone.

We were disappointed by the lunch. We ordered the pizza, pasta for the kids and a hamburger. The hamburger was delicious but the pizza appeared to be a frozen one that they just warmed up and the pasta tasted like it was canned…neither seemed fresh…and the meal was not cheap. It was disappointing.

Our unit was a equipped with all conceivable conveniences including a washer and dryer. Our unit had three outdoor patios, a roof top patio, and lovely main floor patio with an excellent view of the Ocean. It felt like we were in the ocean. Near to our unit and in association with this complex golf was available at a discounted rate.

it was quiet, spacious, the spa and swimming areas were nice, golf also seemed nice

they advertise as a dog friendly hotel but you need to book a very expensive and specific room + pay extra for the dog on top (and they don’t even provide food bowls or a bed) and you need to keep them locked in the room at all times. they are not allowed to access or walk anywhere on the property, which made this factor miss leading. service was slacking, they tried to scam us by charging double for the dog at the end of the checkout. the food could’ve been a lot better especially for lunch and dinner, definetly not worth the price and the restaurant seemed dirty. the celings of the hotel rooms had dead flies smudged all over them with blood stains included.
