Palace Downtown

Location- very good, close to the shopping mall and to restaurants. Hotel- breakfast is great, the lobby smells super nice. Staff- the best. Room- specious and nice. very comfortable bed.

Room- the corridor till the bedroom smelled moldy, the room as well smelled moldy we had to open the window and to put the AC on colder temperature. Their electrical outlet are very limited, we struggled with charging our stuff.

Location and architecture is fabulous, the staff are friendly and kind.

I had booked two rooms, the second room my teens resided in. They moved twice. Once because of mould and once because of ants in the bathroom. Both times the team facilitated quick moves.

The strongest point of Palace Downtown is undoubtedly its location. Being right next to Dubai Mall and the Dubai Fountain is extremely convenient, particularly when travelling with a two-year-old child. It makes it much easier to go for a walk, have a snack at the mall or simply spend some time outside without having to organise taxis every time. The hotel garden is also genuinely beautiful and very well maintained.

Breakfast was particularly poor. The selection was limited, the pastries tasted stale and lacked flavour, and the quality of the fruit was surprisingly low for a hotel of this category. The pool restaurant was equally disappointing. We tried to have lunch by the pool twice, but on both occasions the experience was so poor that we eventually preferred to leave the hotel and eat elsewhere. More generally, the property feels old and insufficiently maintained. We had problems with the hot water, and both handheld showers in the bathroom were in very poor condition. Rust residue came out of one of them when I pulled it out to use it, while the other would not stay properly secured in its holder once the water was running.
