Golden Mar Menuda

Very nice small hotel in an amazing location right on the beach easy to go from pool to beach. The beach was Rockey so you need to bring shoes we had a Seaview room, which they upgraded us to. The room was clean very simple and quite small good for one or two nights otherwise I would book a bigger suite. Breakfast was good with a variety of breads, muffins, meats, and an omelet bar. The pool area was very nice with comfortable seating. The pool is not heated.

Size of the room aren’t my only issue. It’s quite small.

Location is great, breakfast is very good, and the staff is generally supportive

Some staff is not quite so supportive. I was subjected to harsh criticism for sitting with my feet up. I guess I am an impudent American. Never mind both knees are traumatized and had been operated upon by a surgeon. So, do not sit or put your feet on any of the stumps you see in front of the lounge chairs in the lobby. Apparently, these are valuable pieces of furniture not to lounge on. Or perhaps dining tables. Or something

The location was off the top. You can’t be a better location right there steps to the beach steps to go Kayaking steps to go scuba diving in the saltwater pool was amazing so was the restaurant we truly enjoyed our stay and I will recommend any of my closest friends and anybody

Everything was perfect. The staff was friendly. They cleaned our room every day we had fresh towels. Location was wonderful. There was nothing we didn’t like.

Location, location, location. The location was great out of the main hustle and bustle of Tossa de Mar but still a very short walk to the old town and castle. It was also on a small beach which you could walk to from the pool area although this beach was really busy in early August when we visited. The pool area was also great, never an issue with getting loungers and parasols. Breakfast views were lovely, breakfast itself was also quite nice.

The ‘premium’ double rooms are very dated, they don’t really feel premium to be honest - I would say the rooms were overpriced for what you got but it was early August. The staff weren’t overly friendly or helpful, particularly the staff serving breakfast, they were a bit grumpy to be honest. Jessica on reception was lovely though. We noticed that although breakfast is supposed to run until 11am that items were not replenished from about 10.30, also the chef at the egg station also seemed to finish at 10.30 - you would expect to be able to come between 10.30-11.00 and have all options available. The food is the restaurant for lunch is not good and very overpriced.
