The Barn Hotel & Spa

Spa facilities and pool were excellent and my partner enjoyed her treatments. Gym was well equipped. Bathroom was clean and looked new. Staff were friendly. Room was well sized and equipped (iron and board, safe, tea/ coffee/ biscuits.

Room was very disappointing and old fashioned furniture, .and dated. No air con and window didn't open. Stair door outside room screeched and banged every time someone went past. Taken over by a wedding and felt like we were an inconvenience/ secondary

Great location, large car park, lovely welcoming and friendly staff, great bar service for drinks and food.

Just the room type, we had a family room, lovely and spacious but the low slanted ceilings were not great especially above the bed and coffee making area! Would certainly come back but would need to book a different room type for sure.

Leisure Pool , Sauna etc

Dining Experience. We booked a table at the Restaurant as the occasion was my wife's Birthday, We dressed for dinner as we were staying overnight at the Hotel. We arrived at the restaurant at the allocated time, and although not too busy, waited 15 minutes before we were seated. We ordered within a reasonable time, the starters being just Bread and balsamic. This took 20 minutes. After we finished, the plates were cleared and we waited a similar period for our main course. The choice was particularly poor, as it was the same menu as offered in the Bar, and really was that standard ( Beef burger, pizza etc) When my Gammon arrived, it was very thick, hard to cut, and the salt content made it virtually inedible. My wife's burger was ok, but we were so disappointed that we left our food partially eaten. The waitress was so apologetic about the excess wait time, but it was too late. The wait time and standard of food completely ruined the birthday experience. I would advise people to avoid at all costs. We will never go back !
