Oxford Hotel

Quiet street. Close to Earls Court underground. Very clean. Lovely shower. Nice view. Bonus to have a fridge and a safe.

Towel rail was insecure and clearly someone had attempted to fix it with a screw, which hadn’t worked and seemingly not noticed by cleaning staff. Reception staff were in a separate building nearby so we hauled our suitcases up and down an extra set of steps unnecessarily. Nobody mentioned breakfast which could apparently be taken in the other building. Nobody in our building to speak to. Twin room, beds were made up separately but not moved apart, leaving us to shift them. Not much space.

Location very close to Earl’s Court Tube Station

I had asked very early on if I could have a ground floor room due to mobility issues. I arrived to find I’d been put onto the 3rd floor. No lift. Shared bathroom was horrible. Electric hot water system in shower was rigged up in an awkward manner that made using it difficult so I went down to the second floor which was only slightly better. One of the toilets was out of order. Staff was unhelpful re making any change to room location; promised to look into it, asked me to go into the 3rd floor room and sit and wait for “2 minutes please” when I arrived. I waited patiently for 20, then went down to ground floor to find that that person had gone home leaving the cleaner to deliver that news to me. I questioned him about it the next day and he shrugged it off.
