We arrived as a family of 4 for 4 days as a trip for my husbands birthday. We arrived at lunch time and headed to reception to pick up our keys, lovely staff and very helpful. The location was absolutely perfect for us. 5/10 mins walk to the beach and restaurants and bars, 5 mins walk to the Yumbo centre. The apartment was very spacious with very modern decoration. We had 2 rooms with lots of wardrobe space. The balcony looked over the pool and again a good size with a table and 4 chairs. The bathroom was just a shower with no bath but again spacious with shower gel provided and a hairdryer. The kitchen area came with all the usual utensils. We had a toastie maker instead of a toaster which was a little different along with a microwave and coffee maker. The cleaners were in every 2 days with fresh towels. The pool area was quiet with plenty of beds and a lifeguard.

I had read on a previous review that this hotel had a heated pool and that's the reason I booked it over another hotel as I know the canaries can get cooler at night time and the pool can be quite chilly. The pool was lovely but unfortunately not heated it was pretty cold. That is the only fault I have about the place and also not the hotels fault but more the person doing the review in which I read.

The location was amazing - 5 to 10 minutes walk to the beachfront, 5 minutes to the Yumbo Centre. Accommodation was a real mixed bag - some apartments were large and beautifully updated. Others were smaller and really needed updating. We started off in a smaller/older apartment and then got switched (due to other reasons- see below!) to a beautiful larger updated apartment. The gardens and pool are lovely and the pool bar was great. The guy who runs it was so friendly and welcoming. There was also one really lovely and very helpful receptionist - the others were more hit and miss.

When we arrived the shower was filthy - to the point that it was unusable and unhygienic. We asked for it to be cleaned 5 times over the first 24 hours and each time reception said they were sending someone now - but didn't until the 5th occasion. The biggest - and most unexpected- downside was the rat in one of the bedrooms. (Yes a rat! We have a video!). It appeared to be living behind the fitted wardrobe and ventured out into the bedroom. Two staff members came and caught it but seem unsurprised and said it happens from time to time! We requested to move apartments as there was no way of knowing whether there were other rats behind the wardrobe. Initially this was refused (in spite of their being several empty apartments). The receptionist said it wasn't a big deal and they would put poison down - we had a toddler with us so this really wasn't suitable. Eventually after some discussion they agreed to move us.
