Mercure Haydock Hotel

I struggled to get off the interchange to get to the hotel but made it in the end. My room was dated, the carpet dusty but the shower and the bed was exceptional. Nice power and I slept really well. I couldn’t get warm as the air on system was not working but found a heater in the cupboard. Grateful. The staff worked really hard in the restaurant and bar. The chap in at breakfast, I don’t know his name but he was middle aged and Mediterranean maybe, he was a grafter and so friendly. Bless him. Thank you.

I booked an early upgrade as per the email I was sent. When I walking towards the reception I wasn’t greeted that warmly if I’m honest. “I hope you haven’t come to check in?” Is not how you welcome paying guests.
