Macdonald Drumossie Hotel Inverness

Great location The room was very spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was large and nice, with both a shower and a bathtub. The hotel has very spacious common areas. We really enjoyed the beautiful garden, which was especially convenient for walking our dog. Breakfast was okay, perfectly fine.

When we arrived, there was a slight smell of mould in the room. It wasn’t too serious, but it was noticeable. The food at the hotel was disappointing. It was quite expensive and, in our opinion, not worth the price. We would recommend having dinner outside the hotel, where you can find better food for the money.

The food was of excellent quality. No issue with quality either. Breakfast in particular was substantial and of a wide variety The service from friendly member of staff displayed a desire to give the best quality of service.

I don't feel there was anything which we didn't like.....all was positive.

Pleasant, quiet location, friendly receptionist, clean and comfortable room and a good breakfast menu. Very friendly, helpful and polite staff.

The room was clean and tidy. Food was good - both dinner and breakfast.

It is a very big hotel but we turned up and only 3 cars in the parking lot. We questioned the receptionist and we were told they were ‘fully booked’ and had coach parties turning up later…a minibus of 12 turned up and possibly 2 other guests…although the next day they had a conference and the car park was chock full!!! It felt very dated and a little sad and possibly had a smell of either wood polish or damp in the hallway. There was no bar, just a huge lounge area. The conference/wedding room looked out on to the lovely grounds but you don’t get that as a basic hotel guest. The photos of the gardens were one of the reasons I chose this hotel so that was a bit sad too. We ordered a bottle of wine that was 3 times more (£48) than at another hotel we stayed in the night before and it was plonked in front of us not poured. We were on the NC500 and this was one of 9 hotels we had booked. It was extremely expensive both for the room, dinner and wine.
