Probably one of the best locations in Lake Tekapo. Right next to the Church and walking distance from the town. Sauna in the compound also which was really accessible and easy to book. Thanks !

There was an option to pay a once off damage deposit for the room or a 350 dollar bond which i thought was unusual but other than that fantastic stay, location and room.

The rooms were well equipped and it was great to be able to close off the two rooms or have them connected. The dining/kitchen area was lovely to eat or hang out in for a short stay (would have been too small for a longer stay). The dedicated car space was very useful and close to the front door. The bed was super comfy and the heated blankets on the bed were welcome as we were re greeted with a blanket of snow outside in the morning. The accommodation is close to the church, and the touritsy spot for shopping and restaurants.

It was basic but comfortable. The check in details asks you to complete an ID check via third party - this includes sending a photo of a licence (back and front), and a self at minimum into a third party website, but note that the entry details to the accommodation were provided regardless, so it was unnecessary.

Close to Tekapo, just a few minutes walk to the church.

The check in process was annoying- they required a lot of information including a selfie and ID only 24hrs before arrival. This could have been difficult if we hadn’t been somewhere with WiFi. Also check in time of 4pm is quite late.

The hot tub was great and the beds were comfortable.

Very poor customer service and issue resolution! Unfortunately we discovered the fridge in the kitchen area was malfunctioning on the first morning after discovering our food hot and spoiled. When mentioned to the housekeeping staff they said this was a known issue and maintenance has been notified, yet they did not put an out of order sign on the fridge or notify us! I have asked Tekapo Cottages for compensation for spoiled food and 5 days later they are 'still investigating' and have not offered a solution. Unacceptable customer service!
