YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass

Loved how accessible the location was for someone who was navigating the way using public transport, the bus stop from Bangor station drops you off a few steps away from the hostel, and the hostel is situated near the beginning of the pyg track, as well as the miners track. There were tons of facilities within the hostel as well, including a laundry/drying room, kitchen, common eating space, and also lockers, but you have to bring your own lockpad.

Not much food options nearby, you can only bring your own food or opt for dinner at YHA in the area.

Perfect location for an early start on Snowdon Massif. Friendly staff lovely and comfortable surroundings with everything someone on the mountains needs

One suggestion would be a kettle in reception area so those leaving early can make a flask of tea before heading off. Otherwise spot on!

I had a really lovely stay here while visiting Snowdonia for a hiking trip. Everything was great, the hostel was comfortable, welcoming and had everything I needed after a long day on the mountains. One suggestion that would make an already great place even better would be to have a hot tub or perhaps a bath available for guests. As many of your guests are hikers, I think it would be a fantastic addition and a real treat after a long day of walking. There’s nothing better than soaking those aching muscles after a big hike! 😂🥾 Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend the hostel to fellow hikers. Thank you for making my Snowdonia trip even better!
