Excellent location on the coast path , offering meals and a bar too. Clean bedlinen and duvets

None of the kettles in the self catering kitchen were working at 630 am but wondered if power to the sockets was switched off? I boiled some water on the stove instead!

The location was absolutely stunning. It was such a cozy place, everybody was nice, the food at the café was yummy, there was breakfast available (which we were not expecting at all). The dining hall overlooking the cliffs and the sea was to die for. Would come back just to have a cup of tea with that view. So relaxing and quiet.

Not the easiest place to reach if, like us, you're not too skilled with UK driving

The hostel and the location were superb. The facilities were clean and very well appointed. They had an extensive bar and seating area which was very nice after a long day of hiking.

There was a power issue, which isn't the fault of the staff and I am not blaming them for this. However, when we asked a member of staff about the situation they provided vague answers that were unhelpful. We waited two hours to be told they wouldn't be doing food due to the power failure. When asked about alternatives they were unhelpful. Also, when asked about being able to charge phones due to the power failure one member of staff replied 'I guess not' and 'I don't know anything about electricity.' This was singularly unhelpful as we were walking the coastal path and had all of our information on our phones. They made no suggestions as to how to charge our phones, even though the bar downstairs had power. In the end we had to resort to trying plug sockets in the lounge. Again, not the staff's fault, however they could have been more helpful in the circumstances.
