Palmers Lodge Swiss Cottage

Location was good. Nice part of London. Close to local transport options. Overall nice building and lounge area and bar area.

Didn’t like the triple bunks. Room was warm because of weather but top bunk was hot. Didn’t like the shared bathroom set up. It didn’t offer much privacy at all. Females had access to their own facilities but often used the shared during busy hours making it hard to get ready comfortably. They also cleaned the bathrooms every morning around 9am which is peak time for people using them, rather strange.

the price, The building’s architecture, the interior design, the breakfast & breakfast room, the fact that you can use lockers and downstairs restrooms even b4 checking in, the super-friendly and helpful staff, the cosy bunkbed with a feel of privacy, the close proximity to cool locations such as primrose hill, abbey road studios, camden town, the ‘no-age-restriction’, the lounge area that is also useable b4 checking-in, the option of female-only rooms, fellow female solo travellers, the vibe of the guests…

i was there during a very hot few days and, even though they did put up a huge (and very loud) fan in the room, it was pretty warm even at night;

For me is the place to stay when in London , for a hostel is very clean and in a beautiful building,close to tube station , convenient to get to central London , beds are very comfortable

The things I liked the most were the location and design of the common rooms, checking in and out was very easy and the card system caused no problems while I stayed here. I have to say that the location is pretty convenient, very close to the tube and bus stops so to me it felt the same as if I stayed in the city center. Everything was clean, the 24h reception was helpful and polite, plenty of common spaces and amenities (including lockers with extra cost).

A minor disappointment was the room, since the photos provided by the accommodation (regarding the 10-bed room) were totally misleading! There were three sets of three bunk beds instead of the arrangement shown in the original. The lockers were below the beds and were spacious, even though it’d be much better if there were modern lockers with a pin and not stuffed altogether. The toilets were cleaned at a rather inconvenient time (8am), when lots of people get ready and need to use the bathroom, and were a bit far away from some rooms, including mine.
