Gasthof Schiller bei Bamberg

Beds were comfortable, hotel reception was clean and bright as were the rooms in the newer part of the hotel where we were. The restaurant was a reasonable quality and price and popular with locals. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. A small bottle of sparkling and a small bottle of still water in the room on arrival plus haribos. Also an umbrella which seemed a nice touch as you never know when you are going to need one! Parking was fine - lots of available space.

I felt that there were a few things that would have improved our stay as this hotel was more expensive than others we went to, yet lacked some of the facilities. There was no safe, we would have appreciated a means of making a drink or keeping cold drinks cool (ie a small fridge) We missed having aircon and were left with opening the window and being bitten by mosquitoes (which I had to go for as it was ridiculously hot at night) Breakfast was a bit lacklustre. I realise it’s not that big a hotel so one has to make allowance for that but it was just a little disappointing. The hotel was not bad and I wouldn’t like people to be put off - these are just observations. I think it was slightly expensive for what we got.

Den tollen Biergarten mit den alten Bäumen, lecker Essen, sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Ruhige Lage. Öffentliche Ladesäule direkt am Parkplatz. Moderne Zimmer, gemütliches Gasthaus. Reichhaltiges Frühstück.

Das Sofabett war etwas schmal.

Mikael at reception was very efficient and welcoming. The room was immaculate. The very busy garden bar and restaurant was lively, and sharing the breakfast room with the Rhein-Mainz Porsche Club was interesting. Superb breakfast! Keep up the good hospitality Mr and Mrs Schiller! Wonderful walks just down the road and a fine sighting of a nesting kestrel.

The room request was for a quiet room but when a Dutch couple arrive in the small hours of the morning and park noisily right in front of the hotel entrance..

Nice breakfast for only 7 Euros per person. Nice beer garden in front, simple dinner available. Quiet area. Mosquito net on the window. Very clean room & bathroom.

Rather hard bed. Very empty pillows :( Smell of the kitchen present in most of the halls. No refrigerator in the rooms, no A/C.
