YHA Melbourne Central

The hostel located in a strategic location, not far from Southern Cross Station. I had a great stay at this hostel! The place was clean and comfortable, and the staffs were very friendly and helpful (they let me borrow an electricity socket for charging my phone in the room! Big thank you). I felt welcome throughout my stay. Definitely a lovely place to stay, and I would happily recommend it to others!

No bidet in the toilet, the fridge a bit messy (perhaps lots of people staying there over the weekend), no mirror (life size) in a room and shared bathroom.

The hostel is extremely friendly and diverse. The beds are amazing, even the bunkbeds, they dont move or make too much noise and super comfy. I think the air circulation was great too, as usually shared rooms smell but this one didnt. At least in the room where I stayed in (sharing with another 3 people), the power plugs were placed in great places too... The bathrooms were very clean, and the kitchen too... usually backpackers are not the cleanest people... So I think the staff was great at it.. and the place is very nicely situated. I usually stay there once a year, for a couple nights, and always feel happy and value for money is great. Breakfast is great too... I've seen breakfast quality be worse and worse every year, but this hostel have been keeping the level, was very good. After the problem I had with one of the people I was sharing the room with, the staff was very helpful and I thank them for that.

There was a person in my room, that complained that I turned on the lights when I arrived at the room. It was after 10pm, I know this, but also, I needed to understand the room layout and where things were, and unpack... but that person basically said he would punch me, and/or kill me - wasnt clear cause it sounded drugged, speaking English and another language at the same time. I told the reception on the same night, but I opted to stay in the room.

The room was good easy too get in staff great and it was walking distance too all the things I wanted too do

The room was an adequate size, had a comfy bed and clean sheets. Access was convenient and check in was easy

The shared bathroom was not looked after. It did the job but hand soap was not refilled after I alerted staff it was empty, one of the toilets had faeces on it and it was not cleaned up for some time, there were large clumps of hair left on the floor that stayed for days and the shower flooded the entire bathroom floor.
