Well equipped room with comfortable bed and nice shower. The breakfast choices were good and well cooked. The staff were friendly and very helpful and our spaniel Alfie was also made to feel very welcome.

Recently refurbished the bedroom was beautifully decorated and was full of thoughtful details including a Dyson fan. The rest of the building is also really lovely and atmospheric. We had dinner there on the Friday evening and it was really buzzy. Lovely menu, not just the usual pub classics, I had a crispy duck and watermelon salad! Decent wine list with some very reasonably priced options. The breakfast menu is also very good. It is dog friendly too !

Arriving for an over-night just before 8:00 pm on a Sunday evening we were told that the kitchen was closed. However the problem was swiftly solved with an excellent cold platter by helpful and very pleasant staff. So no real problem and a good impression given and would recommend. The place has real character, excellent food and a management that wants to get things right.
Site beside a busy roundabout could trouble some people.

picturesque, nice bar and eating area, great location in a very pleasant small town, plenty of free parking
expensive (because of nearby event pushing up the price, we were told), room was very small, room was very hot
