Excellent location
The floor creaks a lot and if someone is walking you can feel it when you are in a bottom bed.

Location next to the Cathedral and Sao Bento train stations was marvellous. There was also a bar in the evening. Kitchen facilities and use of iron. All staff were friendly and helpful.
My first time in a hostel. You have to give and take. For example if someone is having an early night you feel compelled not to switch the light on which can be difficult. Especially if they go to bed at 8pm which was the case of a German brother and sister in our dorm! Also my dorm toilet / shower only had a sliding door. Not a closing door. Not very private. Or soundproof!

The location was great and the staff were extremely friendly. The view from the room was also lovely.
There was an intense and unpleasant sewage smell coming from the bathroom that lasted for the entire stay. The room had a lot of dust. And we saw a big cockroach in the lobby.
