The Tamarind Hotel - A Boutique Heritage Stay, Anjuna - Goa

Just had an excellent stay at this hotel! The property is really beautiful, and we especially loved the Portuguese-style architecture of our room, which gave us a true Goa vibe. The staff was extremely polite, helpful, and welcoming throughout our stay. We also really enjoyed the food at Café Cotinga — everything we tried was delicious. Overall, the property has a wonderful atmosphere and made our stay in Goa very memorable. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again!

The location is good. It’s a small boutique hotel so there aren’t too many people and the type of people who stay here are decent.

If you’ve stayed at Tamarind before the management changed then you expect a certain cleanliness and standard. That’s not there. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all bad. But here’s what is not great. The sheets were soiled. The registration desk wouldn’t let us change rooms and lied when asked. I wanted to book a room for my friend and at first I just asked if there are empty rooms, to which they answered “no”. And a second later, when I said I wanted another room for my friend, a room magically appeared. My room had dirty sheets but my friend’s room leaked and the room was flooded. She told the Booking.com guys and that’s the only reason they agreed to change her room (note that another free room magically appeared when they had told us there are zero empty rooms). So while they smile and try to give good service, if you’ve stayed here before then you’ll be disappointed.
