Ibis Bourges Centre, Hôtel Restaurant

Location was good and parking was free in car park.

We went for breakfast and stood waiting to be signed in. No one came. We asked reception and they said just go in. Choice was a bit limited. A lot of the tables were covered in crumbs. It would seem that they need more staff to control the area.

The staff here are very helpful and friendly and speak many languages. Our room was very clean but on the small side. This wouldn't have mattered but we had to bring all our luggage up to the room as although we parked outside the hotel, it wasn't in a private location (it is covered by CCTV so we felt ok about it) next to a Leclerc. The location is only 10 minutes' walk from the centre of Bourges. The breakfast was the usual help yourself buffet with the welcome addition of scrambled and boiled eggs! I'm not a regular user of chain hotels but overall I was pleased at the facilities and the lovely staff.

We wished the room had been a little bigger but then we did have a lot of luggage.

The staff were exceptional - all of them. Special thanks to Charlotte on reception who went out of her way to help with parking. Great stay.

Bed was awful. No hand towels. Very few outlets.
