Spacious villa that has lots of spots to chill out with great views (my experience was specifically for C8 but I think it applies to other villas as well). Great snorkeling spot right in front of the villa. Lots of privacy. Very relaxing. Great especially if your plan is to simply relax and do nothing.

While the villa provides kitchen utensils, you have to wash it yourself. If not, I believe there will be extra charges. No beach. While there are 3 decks you can use to enter the water, there is no beach (so forget about building sand castle) and water access is not as easy compared to simply walking from the beach. Not a huge deal but something to keep in mind especially with young children. Lots of mosquitos. Maybe this is true for other places in Koh Tao as well but I only stayed here so I can only say there were lots of mosquitos here. While you have a lot of privacy, the villas are physically close to each other and you can certainly hear the noises from nearby villas. One night around 2-3 a.m., a nearby villa played very loud music. It's not Cape Shark Villa's fault and, while they don't have 24-hour staff like a regular hotel, they provide emergency number to call at night. I didn't call as I was not sure whether this was classified as emergency but I was told the next day to call if it happened again (luckily it didn't).

The view from the room was spectacular. The Villa we stayed in with the pool was so cute and cosy and staff were very friendly and so helpful. They have regular shuttles in an out of town and to the pier, which is really convenient. Loved how the villa has been built around the rocks.

Not really anything I did not like. I am terrified of heights so the drive up was not a fun trip for me. But I survived it, lol and once you are in the room you forget all about the drive up and down.

- Everywhere in the villa there was something to buy — I felt a bit like I was staying in a shop. Coffee capsules, oil, shark slippers, beach hats, countless flyers and offers like “buy beach photos.” It was just too much, and charging extra for coffee capsules at this hotel price is ridiculous - ordered breakfast, which was supposed to arrive within 20 minutes, always took at least an hour. - The reception is open only until 5 PM - You need a phone to arrange basically anything. Mine wasn’t properly charged and at first it didn’t work at all :) - The property is located very high up, so you have to deal with extremely steep roads, which are practically impossible to drive on with a scooter when it rains - far from the beach
