Miyajima Guest House Mikuniya

The quiet location and our room was upstairs with a view of the water. The tatami mats, futon, cosy lounge chairs looking out over the garden. The traditional Japanese style was beautiful and very calming. It rained while we were on Miyajima, but that just brought another layer of quiet and tranquility. The free hot bath was lovely after the hike up to Mount Misen and a drizzly day. The appearance of a young deer in the garden in the morning was delightful. Overall we loved our stay here and will definitely return. Thank you 🥰🥰🥰

The garden was beautiful, also the included breakfast and dinner were really nice but the staff at the check-in was outstanding - thank you!

The house itself is quite nice, and the rooms, everything you expect from a Japanese traditional house. Breakfast and dinner are included (breakfast is super simple, though, but for dinner there's always a nice vegetarian curry and rice). The house a few minutes out of the center of the town, which makes it very calm during all day, when the island is full of tourists, but at the same time, you can get there very quickly.

Staff very accommodating,friendly and helpful

Meals boring and the same everyday. Vegas curry at night and cereal in the morning. They ran out of coffee and instead of making a fresh pot they handed me instant. We also turned over our rooms ourself. I have stayed in a traditional house before and we had a traditional breakfast and traditional dinner. They also turned over our rooms. I think if they made a few small changes they would be 10 out of 10.
