Thisara Guest House

I really liked this hotel, especially the hostess's care because she treated me, my tasks, and my questions with great love and helped me completely. The room is insanely clean, breakfast and dinner are very tasty. I recommend it to everyone.

This place is so peaceful. The location is pretty gorgeous, this view on the rice field made me forget that I was less than 10min walk close to town center. The hosts are super welcoming and have the kindness Sri Lankans are known for, their smiles is the best welcoming language. I didn’t expect a welcoming drink but I had one delivered to my room 🥹 and so many good advices from Shimila about visits in town. I highly recommend to have breakfast here, generous portions, local food and drinks, and again : the view on the rice fields. 😍 Rooms are more than comfortable, air co, good mattress, clean bathroom.

Staff was really amazing, helped us with the laundry and booking the safari (by the way amazing guide and experience, we totally recommend). Meals were great and they were so nice. Also the hotel was not too far away but you need tuk tuk to move around. It was so nice having breakfast or dinner looking at the rice fields. You have AC but you don't have sheets to cover you, only a thin scarf/blanket so keep that in mind.

The only bad thing to say was that the room was dirtier than expected. We understand this is a hotel in the countryside but we found lots of ants, cockroaches, spiderwebs at the side of the bed, etc it was really uncomfortable as we found a dead cockroach under the bed at night time and another one alive in the toilet.

Clean and spacious rooms , a good breakfast , good location with a nice view of the rice fields , bycicles were available. The staff ( breakfast) was really nice and friendly .

Unfortunately we didn’t feel welcome . There was not even a bottle of water or a kettle in the room. The lady asked us to check- out after breakfast , and we were the only guests. In the end , however , it was ok to check out later . I would unfortunately not recommend this guesthouse .
