The Topaz Residence Phuket Town

We stayed here twice during our trip through Thailand, and both times was really nice. The room is big and the bathroom was mostly clean. AC was really good as well (a little loud though), it almost sent us to the north pole with the cooling. We got food poisoning during our stay from somewhere and the lady at the reception was really helpful with free tea and coffee downstairs. She also made sure to give us extra toilet paper and water. There was also a few things you could buy for a good price. Hotel also looks really new and has a nice standard compared to what we have encountered so far in Thailand! We could also leave our luggage for the days we went over to visit Koh Phi Phi. Really nice view from the upper rooms for sunset. You can rent a scooter and fill up your bottles in a machine outside on the big parking lot. Room had a fridge bigger than the one I have at home!

Weird short haired guy from the reception was a little rude. When we tried using the washing machines it ate some of our coins without counting them. He then tried to help us for half an hour by shaking the coin slot machine (we could have helped him because we could clearly see what the problem was) while putting in even more of our coins? In the end he put in about six coins and only wanted to give us back four, we then had to argue with him to give us the rest of the money. He pulls out another coin, which is still not everything he put in and starts to argue again. In the end we got our money, but his behaviour was unnecessary and rude. We know 20 baht is not much, but I also worked for my money and don’t appreciate other people handling my money and then making a fuss about it. It is a little further away from Old Town. Not too far to walk, but also not within 5 minutes. Especially with the awful sidewalks in Thailand.
