Guesthouse Lord Byron

This family-run hotel is in the countryside, just outside the town of Tepelenë (5 min drive). We chose it as a strategic base for visiting several different destinations (around Permet and Gjirokaster) and stayed there for three nights. The room was good, and there were lovely olive, fig, and pomegranate trees nearby. The accommodation was good and clean. Breakfast was plentiful, and they also serve pretty good dinners if you fancy eating in. The WiFi/Internet was good in both the room and the restaurant (~200m apart). All the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

The communal swimming pool looked clean and inviting, but it wasn’t heated, so we didn’t dare take a dip! The TV in the room was only showing two local channels. Would be great to upgrade for modern streaming services. But TV did have HDMI port so if you bring a FireTV stick with you (or any equivalent) - it should work.

From the very first communication you could tell it was going to be a seamless stay. Arber was so helpful, even coming to the airport to bring us to the guesthouse, and was excellent company for the ride down, and with setting up the next legs of our multi day hiking trip. The entire family was friendly and hospitable. The food prepared was great, and the locationwas perfect. Thanks so much for having us!

Beautiful grounds and amazing views but it was the owners that made our stay so great. Not only did they save us from a flat tire when we were 3 miles away, they helped us track down a bike shop the following day and offered to drive us there, refusing any additional money for the assistance. Their hospitality once we finally made it to the hotel was second to none and the food (and wine) were unbelievable. How can bruschetta taste that good?! A massive thank you again from all of us.

The owners/staff were charming. Lovely surroundings of trees, paths and swimming pool. Best of all was the breakfast buffet. Wow. Wide variety of food, super fresh cake, pastries, bread and fruit that we hadn't found in other establishments. The best we've had in 17 days of cycle touring in the Balkans.
