The King's Head

Lovely historic Hotel right in the corner of the Towns Maket Square. Great for my 82yr old Mum who can't walk as far . And for me recovering from x 2 lots of knee surgery. The Staff were so kind and Thank you Nicky and Sophia and everyone else who helped us ,just sorry I didn't write your names down so I could put them on here. Especially kind to take are bags to our Bedroom. They made my Service Dog Teddy really welcome,that was so nice as sometimes he isn't and that makes me uncomfortable and anxious. So thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the lovely staff at this great Hotel. Our Room was Beautiful and very spacious. Suburb shower. The Bed was so comfortable and very large. Bonus to have parking. So pleased we picked this Hotel the Kings head to stay overnight on our way iome from a holiday to Hebden Bridge We will definitely be staying here again. The breakfast and service was excellent. The meal late afternoon meal was very good and so was the service. Excellent staff.

There was nothing. In tbe winter I do like a Bath at night and a shower I the morning.

Staff were friendly and helpful. The food was consistently very good and value for money. Central location with car parking. Comfortable, good-sized room.

Bathroom could have been better lit as the interior layout meant it was windowless (no criticism, just a feature of the old building).

Breakfast let my rating down, was very aversge

The room itself is lovely, very spacious and huge bed with very nice bath tub and amenities. Information mentions coffee machine however there was only a kettle, but not the end of the world!

Don't go in the restaurant here!! Service was appalling slow and food was reheated and unpleasant. Whetherpoons level quality (which would be fine if it came in 5 minutes) however it took 50 minutes to receive our meal. To top it off got food poisoning from the fish (with prawns) so spent the night being very ill. Find somewhere else to eat the 20% discount is NOT worth it!
