Food was superb, I had the octopus The owner was very helpful and friendly, even with my Spanish which is passable. A very comfortable bed. The hotel is on a busy road but it was very quiet at night.

On the Camino, one cannot always expect top-notch accommodations. The non-negotiables for me as a pilgrim are comfort, location, and a quiet environment. Meson Paz checks out all of these. The owner was solicitous and my dinner was excellent. It is 1.2 km from the inicio in Pontedeume and about 500 m. from a starting point for the second day of the Camino Inglés. This is the down side because you won't have the strength to climb down to town and back up again for dinner or shopping for supplies, so if you have business to do in town, do it before going to your hotel.

The room was big

It was a kilometre and a half straight up a steep hill from any amenities. The surroundings were filthy and no place to nearby to buy water etc.
