Breakfast wasn’t great - big spread but largely consisting of what we didn’t eat the day before - downside of being in a largely empty hotel Staff were interesting - not overly busy - receptionist only seemed there at breakfast and if there was a check in - wasn’t exactly customer focused - more interested in playing her europop numbers at full volume in the reception and breakfast room - had to ask to turn it down. Second Lady was the breakfast lady and cleaner / non cleaner - perfected the art of ensuring you didn’t ask for your room to be cleaned and would be content with the supply of a new loo roll - handed over as you left breakfast - all a bit wierd.

Beautiful palazzo. The city is quite charming once you understand that it feels empty because of depopulation. Caserano offers good food and drinks within walking distance.

I hope my partner and I witnessed the beginning of a little renaissance for this place. It’s a charming palazzo with a lot of potential, although some aspects of maintenance could use more attention. Our check in was delayed by three hours because the receptionist couldn’t arrive earlier. The terrace needed cleaning and the pool wasn’t at its best when we arrived, although the pool was spotless afterwards thanks to a cleaning robot. During our stay, the staff became increasingly attentive, replaced the old chairs and genuinely seemed keen to improve things. Breakfast was the weakest part of the stay and, if possible, I would recommend skipping it. The freshness and overall quality were questionable. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The palazzo has real charm and potential, and with a little more attention to detail, it could become a lovely place to stay.
