Park Inn by Radisson, Lagos Victoria Island

There are days when you arrive at a hotel looking forward to a pleasant stay. And then there are days when you arrive feeling as though the world has spent the entire morning conspiring against you! This was very much one of those days. After an incredibly stressful morning, I arrived at the Park Inn on Victoria Island in desperate need of some peace, quiet and an opportunity to forget about everything for a while. And goodness me, did I find it! There is something wonderfully calming about this hotel. The relaxed atmosphere, the privacy, the quiet surroundings and, perhaps most importantly, the genuine warmth and friendliness of the staff all combine to make it somewhere I can properly switch off. I have stayed here before, so I already knew how much I liked the place. But on this particular occasion, I think I appreciated it more than ever. Sometimes the best thing a hotel can offer isn't luxury, entertainment or even a spectacular view. Sometimes it is simply the feeling that, for a little while at least, everything is right with the world again. And after the morning I'd had, that was worth its weight in gold. Thank you, Park Inn. You were exactly what I needed, exactly when I needed it.

Sometimes, you really can have your cake and eat it. I stayed at the Park Inn on Victoria Island over Nigerian Independence Day, and perhaps the best way to describe the whole experience is through one wonderfully simple gesture: free Independence Day cake. It wasn't the cake itself, lovely though it was. It was what it represented. A small, thoughtful, cheerful touch that somehow perfectly matched the atmosphere of the hotel. The Park Inn has a wonderfully relaxed feel about it. It is private, quiet and completely chilled, the sort of place where you very quickly find yourself slowing down. Add genuinely friendly staff to that and it becomes incredibly easy to settle in and simply enjoy being there. And on October 1st, there was cake. As a Scotsman living in Nigeria, I am obviously not going to claim Nigerian Independence Day as my own. But I am more than happy to support international friendship when it involves complimentary cake. A lovely hotel, lovely people, a wonderfully chilled atmosphere and a little unexpected sweetness to remember it by. Happy Independence Day, Nigeria. 🇳🇬 And thank you for the cake!

I liked your dinner it was pretty nice and the serenity of the environment, the location, not difficult to locate and close to major places in V.I.

I can't figure out what I didn't like

The property is well located in Lagos.

The exterior of the building looks unkept. The breakfast options were a little limited.
