Old Water View

Beautiful building, beautifully decorated and maintained. Everything perfectly set up for walkers and the hosts were great. Loved the drying room!

Cooked breakfast isn’t available until 8am, which is a bit scary when facing the toughest long day of the coast to coast path as a slow walker.

Beautiful location Friendly hosts Nothing too much trouble

We got to the property too early to check in and we were hungry, they have a lovely garden and they do provide a menu and outside bar for alcohol teas and coffee which was great because we had travelled a distance and just needed food it was great.

Room was lovely and very clean. Location on coast to coast was great.

Didn’t expect the hard sell approach regarding produce being sold at Old Water view and I didn’t appreciate being told we were “a bit early” for breakfast. You can only have a cooked breakfast from 8am which we knew but when you are facing the toughest and longest day on the coast to coast its a bit late. We came down 10 mins early thinking that would be ok - we were so wrong and were made to wait until 8am before they would take our order - jobs worth.? I thought the comment was uncalled for and maybe a “ we will be with you shortly” comment would have been more appropriate. Shame really as I now wouldn’t recommend this to anyone doing the walk.
