Hôtel des Patients

The hotel is attached to CHUV a large private hospital on the edge of the city centre of Lausanne. There is a metro station within 2 minutes walk although the walk into old Lausanne is all downhill and takes about 15 minutes. The hotel is mostly used by Patients and family who are using the Hospital and as such the rooms are impecably clean, spacious and very comfortable. There are also good views over to Lake Geneva from the balconies which most rooms have. There is good parking below the hotel but it is at a cost and must be booked in advance

Whilst not a dislike, it is a little disconcerting to see patients walking around to lobby in gowns and pyjamas and there were a lot of newborn babies at breakfast with there parents. It this doesn't bother you then this hotel provides really good value (for Switzerland) in more or less the centre of the city.

Cant complain except of it works as well as after hospital accomodation seems so

Very friendly front desk officer who offered free of charge parking due to that fact that we arrvied close to midnight and were going to leave at the earliest time possible in the morning. I think this was really nice, since clearly he didn't want to take advantage of us as clients.

I think that it should be clearly stated that the patients from the nearby hospital use the restaurant. I saw the name of the hotel but didn't really think it was actually a hotel for hospital patients. Clients should be made aware of this. If it is written somewhere in the hotel's description and I simply missed that then I take this back and it was clearly my misunderstanding.
