Mykonos Dove Beachfront Hotel

The location of Platis Gialos is great for accessing the local bus service which we used to get back and forth to Mykonos Town as well as other parts of the island. Our room was a good size and the beach loungers were comfortable. The staff at breakfast, the housekeeping team and most of the reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Whilst our room looked good it lacked elements that would have made our stay much more comfortable. For example there was a large amount of wardrobe space but no drawers to put smaller items meaning that had to live from my suitcase for the duration of our stay. Clean towels were provided each day but there are no towel rails or anywhere to place a towel in use or to hang wet towels to dry off meaning we had to drape them over chairs in the room. Also bizarrely the room details on your site make reference to the rooms being soundproof but ours definitely was not meaning that even with the patio doors closed we could hear the very loud dance music played all day until around 2am in the bar area. The booming music was a feature as you also have to listen to it all day if you choose to lie on the hotel beach or round the pool and whilst we appreciated the Islands party reputation we felt that there could have been some more “chilled” musical options! We felt there was a lack of attention to detail meaning we had to ask for hangers ( we had about 3 each initially) there was no bath plug, and even though we reported it as soon as we arrived our toilet door didn’t lock and didn’t get fixed. Although the breakfast offers a great selection each day to choose from the hot food wasn’t kept warm so if you breakfasted later in the 3 hour time slot that it was available the food was cold. It was a shame as we’d splashed out on what we thought would be a luxurious room and hotel to celebrate a special wedding anniversary and were left feeling somewhat underwhelmed!

Absolutely beautiful hotel in the perfect location,dream room with an amazing private pool,room was cleaned spotlessly every day with clean towels.. but what makes this hotel soo special is the superb staff who make you feel as you are the only guest staying there,having travelled all over the world that is an amazing achievement….
